2. Evaluation of Waste Hauling Services\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Barger and Mitchell: Instruct the\nDirector of Public Works to report back to the Board in writing in 30 days with a\none-year review of the current waste hauling contract for the Altadena and\nKinneloa Mesa Residential Franchise and the Westside Commercial Franchise\nserving Marina del Rey; host multiple in-person community engagement\nsessions to obtain feedback from community members and report back to the\nBoard in writing in 60 days with a summary of feedback along with\nrecommendations for service improvements; report back to the Board in writing\nin 90 days with an evaluation of the County’s requirements in the solicitation\nprocess for both Residential and Commercial Franchises and Garbage Disposal\nDistricts, including recommendations to improve service delivery, data\ntransparency, and accountability; and report back to the Board in writing in 60\ndays with grant opportunities, funding streams and recommendations to assist\nwith the implementation of organic waste collection services, including waste\nreduction strategies, additional community education, and bill assistance\nprograms.
