Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Campus Clinical Laboratory and Red-Bag\nStorage Project Construction Contract\nRecommendation: Find that the recommended actions are within the scope of\nthe Board’s previous finding of exemption from the California Environmental\nQuality Act for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Campus Clinical Laboratory\nand Red-Bag Storage Project, Capital Project No. 69857 (Project) (2); approve\nthe revised Project budget of $16,975,000, an increase of $1,075,000 from the\nprevious Board-approved amount of $15,900,000, for the Project; approve the\nFiscal Year 2023-24 appropriation adjustment to allocate $1,075,000 from the\nDepartment of Health Services’ Enterprise Fund Committed for the Department\nof Health Services to fund the remaining project expenditures of the Project;\nand authorize the Director of Public Works to finalize negotiations and execute\nchange orders with AWI Builders, Inc. as detailed below. (Department of\nPublic Works) APPROVE 4-VOTES\nIn an amount not to exceed $510,000 for building modifications due to a\nchange in laboratory equipment;\nIn an amount not to exceed $250,000 for changes required to the\nRed-Bag Storage area foundation;\nIn an amount not to exceed $315,000 for additional rooftop equipment\npads; and\nIn an amount not to exceed $200,000 for revisions and additions of\nlow-voltage equipment.
