13. Galvanizing Communities in Support of the Arts\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Barger: Recognize the\nDepartment of Arts and Culture and the Arts Commission’s 75th Anniversary,\nand the Arts Education Collective’s 20th Anniversary, and encourage County\nresidents to join in the celebration; instruct the Chief Executive Officer to work\nwith relevant County Department Heads, including the County Librarian, and the\nDirectors of Parks and Recreation and Beaches and Harbors, to promote\nevents, educational materials, and resources related to Arts and Culture in the\nCounty, including social media content designed by the Department of Arts and\nCulture; and instruct the Director of Arts and Culture to take the following\nactions:\nCreate a social media toolkit with content that encourages residents to\nshare why the arts matter to them, and urge residents to explore and\nsupport local arts and culture organizations by attending events or\nprograms, including both free and paid opportunities;\nCreate a virtual map of arts programs, including all grantee\norganizations, to allow residents to locate arts programming in their\nneighborhood; and\nWork with the Center for Strategic Partnerships to explore potential\nopportunities to support arts programs including, but not limited to, the\nOrganizational Grant Program, the Community Impact Arts Grant, arts\neducation, internships, and creative career pathways.
