Proclaiming October 2023 as “Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month”\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Solis: Proclaim October 2023 as\n“Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month” in Los Angeles County and instruct the Director of\nAnimal Care and Control to waive adoption fees during the month of October for\nresidents of Los Angeles County; and instruct the Director of Animal Care and\nControl to work with County Communications Branch, Chief Executive Officer,\nto share information about Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC)\nresources, services, incentives, and adoptable pets in all the County animal\ncare centers, including events where DACC will be providing opportunities for\nresidents to adopt a pet, and waiving adoption fees.
