6.G. APPROVAL OF THE DATES FOR THE ELECTION\nAND INSTALLATION OF THE MAYOR AND\nMAYOR PRO TEMPORE AND DISCUSSION OF\nCITY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULE FOR\nCALENDAR YEAR 2024 [J. JIMENEZ, M.\nCROWDER, L. MORALES]:\nThe City Council will consider approving the date for\nthe election of the new Mayor and Mayor Pro\nTempore as well as the date for the Installation of the\nnew Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore. The City\nCouncil will also consider approving the City Council\nRegular Meeting Schedule for Calendar Year 2024\nincluding cancelling or rescheduling a few meetings\nthroughout the year that conflict with holidays.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Conduct the election of\nthe Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore at the December\n18, 2023 City Council meeting; 2) Cancel the\nmeeting of January 1, 2024; 3) Reschedule the\nmeeting of January 15, 2024 to January 16, 2024\n(Installation/Reorganization Meeting); 4) Consider\nconducting a second meeting in January on January\n22, 2024; 5) Reschedule the meeting of February 19,\n2024 to February 20, 2024; 6) Consider cancelling\nthe meeting of July 1, 2024; 7) Consider cancelling\nthe meeting of September 2, 2024; 8) Approve the\nCity Council Regular Meeting Schedule for Calendar\nYear 2024; and 9) Discuss other City Council\nmeeting dates, as necessary.\nSTAFF REPORT\nITEM 6.G. - ATTACHMENT A\nEXCLUDED CONSENT CALENDAR: Items removed from\nthe Consent Calendar for separate discussion are\nconsidered at this time.\nPUBLIC COMMENT: This time is set aside for the public to\naddress the Council on any item of interest within the\nsubject matter jurisdiction of the Council that could not be\nheard under Item 1 at the beginning of the meeting.\nCOUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS AND MEETING\nATTENDANCE REPORTS: This portion of the meeting is\nset aside for general comments, announcements, requests\nof staff, subcommittee meeting reports, and/or other issues\nof concern from members of the City Council.
