CC 15. Approval of Employee Guidelines for the Use of Personal Protective Spray\nRecommendation(s):\n1. Approve the City of Lancaster Pepper Spray Policy for permanent and temporary non-law\nenforcement employees working in the City of Lancaster who have completed the required\ntraining and have City of Lancaster approval, are authorized to carry and use pepper spray as\na self-defense measure while on duty.\nTo enhance the safety of unarmed City staff who regularly interact with the public, the City\nhas developed a Pepper Spray Policy outlining appropriate use, training requirements, and\nreporting procedures. This policy applies to permanent and temporary non-law enforcement\nemployees in the Community Preservation Division and Lancaster Police Department.
