40. California Department of State Hospitals for Incompetency to Stand Trial\nRemote Video Re-Evaluation Services Agreement\nRecommendation: Authorize the Sheriff, as an agent of the County, to execute\nan agreement with the California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) effective\nretroactively from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024, to compensate the\nSheriff’s Department in an amount not to exceed $600,000 for the cost of\nproviding records, scheduling interviews, and providing the setting, technology,\nand security needed for DSH to perform Incompetency to Stand Trial (IST)\nRe-Evaluation Services; execute all amendments and modifications to the\nagreement, as necessary, for the effective participation in IST Re-Evaluation\nServices; execute all required documents including, but not limited to,\nagreements, assurances and certifications, amendments, modifications,\nextensions, and payment requests in future fiscal years as necessary, for the\neffective participation in IST Re-Evaluation Services.
