4. Supporting Workers Impacted by the Ongoing Entertainment Industry\nStrikes\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Horvath: Direct the\nChief Executive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Branch, to send a five-signature letter to the Alliance of Motion Picture\nand Television Producers (AMPTP) supporting the Screen Actors Guild -\nAmerican Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), and urging\nthe AMPTP to return to the negotiating table and end this strike by meeting a\nreasonable agreement with SAG-AFTRA; and instruct the Director of Economic\nOpportunity, through the Los Angeles County Film Office, to work with the\nDirector of Arts and Culture to demonstrate and quantify, where possible, the\neconomic impacts of the Writer’s Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes on\nemployees and contractors that serve the entertainment industry in the County\nand report back to the Board in writing in 30 days on the impact on direct,\nindirect, and induced employment and earnings, and information indicating how\nmany businesses impacted by the strike are sole proprietors or independent\ncontractors, and whether they are eligible for unemployment.
