38. Data Use Agreements\nRecommendation: Authorize the District Attorney to execute Data Use\nAgreements (DUAs) with the State of California, Committee on Revision of the\nPenal Code, the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of the\nCalifornia Policy Lab, and future DUAs, with various public, private,\ngovernmental, or educational entities or institutions excluding for-profit entities,\nrelating to criminal justice policy reforms, including reducing racial disparities\nand incarceration in the criminal justice system; authorize the District Attorney\nto execute any revisions, amendments, change notices, or extensions to the\nDUAs that are consistent with the requirements of the DUAs and terminate the\nDUA when it is in the best interest of the County; and approve the limited use of\nmutual indemnification for DUAs, as described herein, between the District\nAttorney and other public, private, governmental, or educational entities or\ninstitutions, excluding for-profit entities.
