64. Maintenance and Repair Services for Breathing Air Recharging Systems\nContract\nRecommendation: Acting as the Governing Body of the Consolidated Fire\nProtection District (District), approve and instruct the Fire Chief to execute a\ncontract between the District and Compressed Air Specialties, Inc., for the\nprovision of maintenance and repair services for Breathing Air Recharging\nSystems (BARS), on an as-needed and intermittent basis, without disruption in\nservice; authorize the maximum contract amount of $1,092,000, including an\ninitial contract term of three years, with two one-year and twelve\nmonth-to-month extension options, for a maximum contract amount comprised\nof annual expenditures not to exceed a total of $182,000 per contract year; with\nthe contract commencing on July 1, 2023, or upon Board approval, whichever\ndate is later; authorize the Fire Chief to execute amendments, suspensions, or\ntermination, if deemed necessary, including the extension options, and in\naccordance with the approved contract terms and conditions, provided the\namounts payable under such amendments do not exceed the $182,000 annual\nbudget; and find that this contract is exempt from the California Environmental\nQuality Act.
