6. Further Alignment with United States President Joseph R. Biden’s\nExecutive Order on Reducing Gun Violence and Making Our Communities\nSafer\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Hahn: Instruct County\nCounsel to join as amicus curiae in any appellate briefing defending California\nAssembly Bill 2571 (Bauer-Kahan), legislation which prohibits the firearm\nindustry from advertising or marketing any firearm-related product in a manner\nthat is designed, intended, or reasonably appears to be attractive to minors;\ninstruct the Treasurer and Tax Collector to publicly post the names and\naddresses of gun dealers in unincorporated County who have had their County\nbusiness license revoked or suspended; direct the Chief Executive Officer,\nthrough the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations Division, to\nsupport relevant Federal legislation to modernize and make permanent the\nUndetectable Firearms Act of 1988 and any Federal legislation prohibiting the\nmarketing of firearms to minors; direct the Chief Executive Officer, through the\nCounty Communications Office, to work with relevant Departments to develop\npublic awareness campaigns regarding safe storage laws that stress the\nimportance for all gun owners to store firearms responsibly and securely where\nno children or prohibited persons could access them; and instruct the Director\nof Mental Health to work with the Sheriff, Fire Chief, and other relevant\nDepartments, to support the recovery, mental health, and other needs of first\nresponders to incidents of gun violence.
