Proclaiming May 20 through 26, 2023 as “Safe Boating Week” in\nLos Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Mitchell: Recognize and proclaim\nMay 20 through 26, 2023, as “Safe Boating Week” in Los Angeles County and\nencourage all residents who own a boat or plan on taking a boat ride, to utilize\nthe safety and training resources provided by the United States Coast Guard\nAuxiliary; instruct the Director of Beaches and Harbors to launch a social media\ncampaign to promote Safe Boating Week and the County’s boating and water\nsafety resources; and instruct the Director, in conjunction with the County’s\nMarina del Rey (MdR) for All Initiative, to promote participation in an online\nsurvey of County residents with a focus on reaching underrepresented and\nunderserved communities, on the barriers to access and the needs of the\nboating community of Marina del Rey at www.mdr4all.org/survey, and report\nback to the Board in writing on the survey findings as part of the Department’s\nnext MdR for All update.
