14. “Ginger Rogers” Beach Pride Month Lifeguard Tower 17 and 18 Painting\nand Interpretive Signage Installation\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Horvath: Instruct the Director of\nBeaches and Harbors to work with the County’s Fire Department’s Lifeguard\nDivision and the Third Supervisorial District , to coordinate with a contracted\npainter and muralist to permanently repaint Lifeguard Towers 17 and 18 in the\ncolors of the Progress Pride flag, with funding from the Third Supervisorial\nDistrict’s discretionary funds; instruct the Los Angeles County Fire Department\nFoundation to work with the County’s Fire Department’s Lifeguard Division,\nONE Archives Foundation, and the Third Supervisorial District, to fabricate and\ninstall two permanent interpretive signs onto Lifeguard Towers 17 and 18, and\nseek grant opportunities to fund the costs of fabrication and installation, with\nany shortfall to be funded from the Third Supervisorial District’s discretionary\nfunds; and instruct the Director of Beaches and Harbors to take the following\nactions:\nWaive all fees associated with any required County permits; and\nWaive the $15 per vehicle parking fee for approximately 100 vehicles,\ntotaling $1,500, at Will Rogers Beach parking lots on June 17, 2023 from\n9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., excluding the cost of liability insurance, for\nparticipants to celebrate the unveiling of the Lifeguard Towers and\ninterpretive signage.
