8. Granting a License to Martin Luther King, Jr. - Los Angeles Healthcare\nCorporation to Use Urgently Needed Vacant Space at the Behavioral\nHealth Center\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Mitchell: Find that pursuant to\nGovernment Code Section 26227, the vacant space located at the Behavioral\nHealth Center (BHC), located on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Campus, is\nnot required for County purposes, and the use of the vacant space to relocate\nstaff from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, in order to provide\nmore beds and emergency services to the BHC via a Red Gurney Team, is in\nthe best interests of the County and the general public; authorize the Chief\nExecutive Officer to negotiate, execute, amend, terminate, and extend a license\nwith Martin Luther King, Jr. - Los Angeles Healthcare Corporation, a nonprofit\npublic benefit corporation, for a five-year term that includes one four-year\nextension option; approve and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute\nthe license agreement and any ancillary documentation, that are necessary to\neffectuate the terms of the proposed license and take any other actions\nnecessary and appropriate to implement and effectuate the terms of the\nproposed license; and find that the proposed project is exempt from the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act.
