41. El Sol Shuttle Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that shuttle services can be performed more\neconomically by an independent contractor; award and instruct the Chair to\nsign a contract with Southland Transit, Inc., for El Sol shuttle services in the\nunincorporated community of East Los Angles (1), for a period of one year with\nfour one-year and a six month-to month extension options, for a maximum\npotential contract term of 66 months and a maximum potential contract amount\nof $19,582,020; authorize the Director of Public Works to renew the contract\nfor each additional extension option if, in the opinion of the Director, the\ncontractor has successfully performed during the previous contract period, and\nthe services are still required; authorize the Director to approve and execute\namendments to incorporate necessary changes within the scope of work, and\nsuspend work if it is in the best interest of the County to do so, and annually\nincrease the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the annual contract\namount, which is included in the maximum potential contract amount, for\nunforeseen additional work within the scope of the contract, if required; and\nfind that the contract work is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct.
