37. King Medical Center and Willowbrook Shuttle Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that shuttle services can be performed more\neconomically by an independent contractor; award and instruct the Chair to\nsign a contract with MV Transportation, Inc., to provide shuttle services for King\nMedical Center and Willowbrook, in the unincorporated community of\nWillowbrook (2) for a one-year term with three one-year and six\nmonth-to-month extension options, for a maximum potential contract term of 54\nmonths and a maximum potential contract amount of $6,347,814, with funding\nfor these services included in the Second Supervisorial District's Proposition A\nLocal Return Transit Operations Fund (Fund CP6 - Services and Supplies)\nFiscal Year 2022-23 Budget; find that the contract work is exempt from the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of Public\nWorks to take the following actions: (Department of Public Works) APPROVE\nRenew the contract for each extension option if, in the opinion of the\nDirector, MV Transportation, Inc., has successfully performed during the\nprevious contract period, and the services are still required, approve and\nexecute amendments to incorporate necessary changes within the scope\nof work, and suspend work if, it is in the best interest of the County; and\nAnnually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the\nannual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount, for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the\ncontract, if required.
