16. Donation from the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation for the Department\nof Parks and Recreation’s Clippers Community Court Program\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: Instruct the Director of\nParks and Recreation to execute a three-party donation agreement with the Los\nAngeles Clippers Foundation, the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation, and\nthe Department of Parks and Recreation on behalf of the County, in which the\nLos Angeles Clippers Foundation will donate $5,300,000 to the Los Angeles\nCounty Parks Foundation, the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation will\naccept the funds and perform the work through its contractors, and the\nDepartment of Parks and Recreation will allow and accept the donated work and\ndesignate the improved basketball courts as "Clipper Community Courts" for a\nterm of 10-years; find that the proposed improvement work is exempt from the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director to take the\nfollowing actions:\nEnter into a two-year License Agreement(s) with the Los Angeles County\nParks Foundation’s contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, to allow\nentry and access to the basketball courts and perform the improvement\nwork, and amend and renew the said License Agreement(s) as needed,\nfor up to one additional year, for a total term of three years, due to\nunforeseen work delays; and\nSend letters to the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation and the Los Angeles\nCounty Parks Foundation, expressing the Board's appreciation for their\ngenerous donation.
