2. Five-Signature Letter to the Federal Communications Commission\nRegarding Local Land Use Authority on Wireless Telecommunications\nFacilities\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Horvath: Direct the\nChief Executive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Division, in consultation with County Counsel, the Directors of Public\nWorks and Regional Planning, and other relevant County Departments, to send\na five-signature letter to the Federal Communications Commission requesting\nthe following:\nDevelop a transparent, inclusive, and equitable process to engage the\npublic, State, and local governments, and the wireless\ntelecommunications industry and develop new regulations for wireless\nfacilities that are considerate and supportive of concerns at the local\nlevel;\nRevise regulations, including its Reports and Orders, that will ensure\nmore access to information and greater cooperation with local\ngovernments in preparing ordinances and reviewing development\nproposals for wireless telecommunication facilities that take into\nconsideration local concerns and due process; and\nProvide direct oversight to impose requirements for independent analysis\nwhen proposing sites and to monitor ongoing compliance with emission\nregulations in partnership with local authorities .
