29. Termination and Continuance of Proclamations of Local Emergencies\nRecommendation: Approve and instruct the Chair to execute a resolution to\nterminate eight local emergencies proclaimed as a result of the Aliso Canyon\nnatural gas leak, the Creek Fire, the Woolsey Fire, two 2019 winter storms, civil\nunrest, the emission of hydrogen sulfide gas/odors from portions of the\nDominguez Channel, and monkeypox; instruct the Director of the Office of\nEmergency Management, to forward a copy of the resolution to terminate eight\nlocal emergencies to the Director of the California Governor’s Office of\nEmergency Services; approve and instruct the Chair to sign the resolution to\ncontinue five local emergencies proclaimed as a result of the discovery of a\nfruit fly infestation, the Lake Fire, the Bobcat Fire, homelessness, and 2023\nwinter storms throughout Los Angeles County; and as often as is required by\nlaw, review and consider the need to continue existing local emergencies.\n(23-0905)\nAttachments: Board Letter\nPublic Comment/Correspondence\nCounty Operations
