13. Capital Improvements to Support Extension of Summer Swim Season at\nLos Angeles County Pools (Part 2)\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Hahn and Mitchell: Instruct the\nDirector of Public Health to assist the Department of Parks and Recreation by\nexpediting the review of remodeling work at pool facilities to extend the summer\nswim season and provide guidance in the development of alternative safety and\nlighting plans if appropriate; instruct the Director of Public Works to expedite all\nreviews and approvals for any work requiring a permit related to the extension\nof the summer swim season so that improvements may be made to pool\nfacilities with limited disruption to operations; find that the proposed projects are\nexempt from the California Environmental Quality Act; and take the following\nactions:\nAuthorize the Director of Parks and Recreation to deliver the proposed\nprojects using Board-approved as-needed consultants and Job Order\nContracts;\nEstablish and approve the following proposed projects: Atlantic Avenue\nPark Pool Lighting Remodel Project, Capital Project (CP) No. 87952, with\na total project budget of $560,000; El Cariso Park Pool Lighting Remodel\nProject, CP No. 87953, with a total project budget of $509,000; Val Verde\nPark Pool Lighting Remodel Project, CP No. 87954, with a total project\nbudget of $520,000; and Victoria Park Pool Lighting Remodel Project,\nCP No. 87955, with a total project budget of $480,000; and\nApprove the following appropriation adjustments to transfer a total\n$2,069,000 from the Provisional Financing Uses Budget to Capital\nAssets-Buildings and Improvements Budget under the following CPs to\nfully fund the proposed projects: $560,000 under CP No. 87952,\n$509,000 under CP No. 87953, $520,000 under CP No. 87954, and\n$480,000 under CP No. 87955.
