24. Florence-Firestone Transit Oriented District Resolution\nRecommendation: Adopt and approve the General Plan Amendment No.\nRPPL2021-002373-(2), as part of Project No. 2020-003127-(2), to authorize the\nproposed Florence-Firestone Transit Oriented District Specific Plan, for the\nunincorporated community of Florence-Firestone, which incorporates changes\nto land use, zoning and development standards centered around the Slauson,\nFlorence, and Firestone rail stations, and updates the Florence-Firestone\nCommunity Plan, redesignates land use and zoning categories in\nFlorence-Firestone to facilitate more affordable housing opportunities,\neconomic development, pedestrian and other multi-modal access around transit\nstations and within the community, addresses industrial/residential\nincompatibility, and implements the Housing Element; as a part of this project,\nthe Florence-Firestone Community Standards District in Los Angeles County\nCode, Title 22 - Planning and Zoning, Chapter 22.324, will be repealed and\nreplaced with Chapter 22.418, the Florence-Firestone Transit-Oriented District\nSpecific Plan Zones and Development Standards, which comprises\ndevelopment standards to encourage active transportation and\ncommunity-serving uses.
