8. Support for Key Federal Gun Safety Legislation: Banning the Sale of\nAssault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazines and Raising the Age to\nPurchase Assault Weapons\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Hahn: Direct the Chief\nExecutive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Division, to send a five-signature letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein\nwith a copy to the Los Angeles County Congressional Delegation, in support of\nSenate Bill (S.) 25 (Feinstein) - the Assault Weapons Ban of 2023, and similar\nmeasures that would ban the sale, transfer, manufacture, and importation of\nmilitary-style assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and other\nhigh-capacity ammunition feeding devices, and S. 14 (Feinstein) - the Age 21\nAct, and similar measures that would raise the minimum age to purchase\nassault weapons from 18 to 21.
