3. The Future of the Food Equity Roundtable\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Hahn and Horvath: Utilize the\nFood Equity Roundtable’s Strategic Plan (Plan) as a roadmap to equitable food\naccess for Los Angeles County and instruct the Acting Chief Sustainability\nOfficer, to report back to the Board in writing within 90 days with the following:\nIdentify County leads and implementation steps for Roundtable priorities,\nby working in consultation with the Roundtable and County Departments\nlisted, but not limited to, the Departments of Public Social Services,\nChildren and Family Services, Public Health, Aging and Disabilities,\nRegional Planning, Public Works, Youth Development, Probation, and\nEconomic Opportunity, and engage with the Roundtable in support of this\nwork moving forward; and\nInclude a recommended set of priorities from the Plan, their associated\nimplementation timelines, and the Departments relevant to\nimplementation;\nDirect the Acting Chief Sustainability Officer to include in the same report back\na proposed structure, placement, staffing plan, etc., for an Office of Food\nEquity to facilitate future County efforts in support of implementing the Plan;\nand\nDirect the Chief Executive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and\nIntergovernmental Relations Division, to continue working with the Acting Chief\nSustainability Officer to advocate at State and Federal levels in support of the\nRoundtable’s policy platform to improve food equity and food system resilience\nin the Los Angeles region.
