5. March of Dimes and “Creating Greater Communities” Workplace\nCharitable Giving Campaign 2023\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Hahn: In support of Board Policy\nNo. 3.010 - Workplace Charitable Giving Standard, approve and support the\nMarch of Dimes and “Creating Greater Communities” Workplace Charitable\nGiving 2023; encourage those employees who can, to begin donating to these\nworthy causes through voluntary payroll deduction and for those who already\ngive, to consider an increase to their existing contribution; request that\nDepartment Heads and their designated March of Dimes and Charitable Giving\nCoordinator(s) oversee Departmental supported efforts to follow the March of\nDimes and Charitable Giving Campaign standards; and proclaim the following:\nMay 20, 2023, as “County of Los Angeles March of Dimes Day,” in\nrecognition of the annual “March for Babies” walk to be held in Grand\nPark;\nFebruary 15 and 16; March 15 and 16; April 19 and 20; May 17 and 18;\nand June 21 and 22, 2023, as “Blue Jeans for Babies” days throughout\nthe County, in support of the 2023 March of Dimes Campaign; and\nJuly 19 and 20; August 16 and 17; September 20 and 21; October 18\nand 19; November 15 and 16; and December 20 and 21, 2023, as “Blue\nJeans for Giving” days throughout the County in support of the 2023\nWorkplace Charitable Giving Standard.
