53. Intellectual Property Enforcement Program Grant Award\nRecommendation: Delegate authority to the Sheriff, as an agent for the County,\nto execute a Grant Award Agreement No. 15PBJA-22-GG-01584-INTE\n(Agreement) with Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), accepting grant funds in\nthe amount of $374,979 with no match requirement for the grant period from\nOctober 1, 2022 through September 30, 2024; and take the following related\nactions: (Sheriff’s Department) APPROVE 4-VOTES\nExecute and submit all required grant documents including, but not\nlimited to, agreements, modifications, extensions, and payment requests\nthat may be necessary for completion of the 2022 Intellectual Property\nEnforcement Program (Program);\nApply and submit a grant application to BJA for the Program in future\nfiscal years and to execute all required grant application documents,\nincluding assurances and certifications, when and if such funding\nbecomes available;\nAccept all grant awards from BJA for the Program in future fiscal years,\nif awarded by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), and\nexecute all required grant award documents including, but not limited to,\nagreements, modifications, extensions, and payment requests that may\nbe necessary for completion of the Program in future fiscal years; and\nApprove an appropriation adjustment to increase the Department's\nrevenue by $374,000 ($355,000 for Salaries and Employee Benefits and\nan additional $19,000 for travel and training expenses) for Fiscal Year\n(FY) 2022-23 to be fully offset by revenue from the DOJ, 2022 BJA FY\n22 Program to fund the Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team.\n(23-0019)\nAttachments: Board Letter\nPublic Comment/Correspondence
