14.\nAPPROVE CHANGE ORDERS: ROOF REPLACEMENT AT ALHAMBRA FIRE\nSTATION 74 – F2M24-36, C2M25-21, M2M25-129\nOn May 12, 2025, the City Council approved an award of contract to Superior Roofing\nSystems, Inc. for the Roof Replacement project at Alhambra Fire Station 74 in an amount\nnot to exceed $125,256.00. Prior to the start date of the project, staff learned the roof tiles\nthat were identified in the scope of work developed by Weatherweld asked for a one-layer\ntile instead of the two-piece clay tile currently on the building. As a result, a change order\nwas necessary to match the same roof tiles and preserve the same look of the roof.\nChange Order No. 1 in the amount of $45,360 is the difference in price as a result of the\nchange in the roof material. Furthermore, during the inspection and when work started,\nthe contractor discovered additional plywood and insulation damage caused by termites.\nThus, Change Order Nos. 2 and 3 were submitted for the plywood replacement in the\nupper deck and perimeter edge. The total amount is $51,360.00.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve Change Order Nos. 1, 2, and 3 for the\nRoof Replacement Project at Alhambra Fire Station 74, increasing Contract No. C2M2521 with Superior Roofing Systems, Inc. by $96,720.00, bringing the total revised contract\nvalue to an amount not to exceed $221,796.00 and if approved, authorize a contract\namendment in the amount of $96,720.00 for additional materials and labor, subject to\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
