Item 54:\nEighth Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement Contract Between the City of San\nDiego and Herc Rentals, Inc. for Equipment and Related Products and Services.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThis Eighth amendment to the agreement with Herc Rentals increases the not-to-exceed\namount to $66,525,000. Expenditure of the funds is contingent upon the adoption of the\nAnnual Appropriation Ordinance for the applicable fiscal year and sufficient funding\nbeing available in each participating department’s budget each fiscal year. This contract is\nas needed; funds and available budget will be encumbered through the purchase\nrequisition process.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\nAdopt the following Ordinance which was introduced on 7/29/2025, Item S511, (Council\nvoted 8-0, Councilmember Moreno-not present):\n(O-2026-7 Cor. Copy)\nOrdinance authorizing the Mayor, or his designee, to execute Amendment No. 8 to the\nContract with Herc Rentals, Inc., extending the Contract through October 31, 2027, in an\namount not-to-exceed $66,525,000, in connection with City-wide light, medium, and\nheavy-duty equipment rentals.\n6 votes required pursuant to Charter Section 99.\nCommittee Actions Taken:\nThis item was heard at the Budget and Government Efficiency Committee meeting on\nJuly 16, 2025.\nACTION: Motion by Vice Chair Moreno, second by Committee Member Elo-Rivera, to\nrecommend Council approval of staff’s proposed actions.\nVOTE: 4-0; Foser III-yea, Lee-yea, Moreno-yea, Elo-Rivera-yea.\nPurchasing & Contracting: Claudia C.
