15. 23-0475 Recommendation to request City Manager to work with the Climate,\nEnvironment, and Coastal Protection Committee to report on\nenvironmental, public health, social, fiscal and economic impacts on the\nCity of Long Beach from sewage spills; and, provide a progress report on\nthe City’s projects funded by Measure W and projects countywide related\nto eliminating sewage from entering our water ways and ocean, within 120\ndays;\nRequest City Manager work with the Regional Water Quality Control Board\nand any other enforcement agencies to prepare a report on recent\nsewage spills in Long Beach which violated the Clean Water Act and/or\nother related regulations which such report shall include: name of\nresponsible agency or entity, date of occurrence, date(s) of any water\narea closures, amount of sewage spilled, and impact costs reported; and\nRequest City Manager work with the City Attorney to research and provide\noptions for the City to seek compensatory damages and reimbursement\nfor costs incurred by the City related to sewage spills.\nOffice or Department: COUNCILMEMBER KRISTINA DUGGAN,\nTHIRD DISTRICT; COUNCILWOMAN MARY\nZENDEJAS, FIRST DISTRICT; VICE\nMAYOR CINDY ALLEN, SECOND DISTRICT\nSuggested Action: Approve recommendation.
