(8) 22-1542 CD 9 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT and RESOLUTION relative to declaring the property located at 116 East 59th Place a public nuisance as the result of the presence of a homeless encampment, excessive trash and debris, and inoperable vehicles. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Resolution (Price – O'Farrell): ADOPT the accompanying RESOLUTION, pursuant to Section 7.35.2(c) of the Los Angeles Administrative Code (LAAC), to: Declare property located at 116 E. 59th Place (APN 60060060911) a public nuisance as the result of the presence of a homeless encampment, excessive trash and debris, and inoperable vehicles. Direct the Board of Public Works (BPW) to expedite the issuances of appropriate notices and documentation that may be necessary to effectuate the abatement of the nuisance at 116 East 59th Place. Direct the BPW, or its designees, to proceed with the abatement process, as may be necessary, and pursuant to Section 7.35.3 of the LAAC, invoice the property owner for all and any abatement costs incurred by the City of Los Angeles.
