(7) 23-0002-S37 RULES, ELECTIONS, AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT and RESOLUTION relative to establishing the City’s position regarding Senate Bill 50 (Bradford) that would prohibit a peace officer from initiating a traffic stop for a low-level violation, unless there is a separate, independent reason. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Resolution (Harris-Dawson – Hutt – Soto-Martínez), SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR: RESOLVE to include in the City's 2023-24 State Legislative Program SUPPORT for Senate Bill 50 (Bradford) that would prohibit a peace officer from initiating a traffic stop for a low-level violation, unless there is a separate, independent reason.
