(12) 23-0167 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to sustainable solutions and best practices for sidewalk repairs, implemented by other cities, that preserve the City's mature street trees while ensuring safe sidewalks; and, securing federal funding under the urban forestry program of the new infrastructure bill. Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Lee - Park): DIRECT the Bureau of Street Services, in coordination with the Urban Forestry Division and the City Forest Officer, to report on sustainable solutions and best practices for sidewalk repairs, implemented by other cities that preserve the City's mature street trees while ensuring safe sidewalks. INSTRUCT the City Administrative Officer (CAO), and all other relevant departments, to report on the steps necessary, or already underway, to secure federal funding under the urban forestry program of the new infrastructure bill. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
