H. NEW NATIONAL OPIOIDS SETTLEMENTS: TEVA, ALLERGAN, CVS,\nWALGREENS, AND WALMART AND STATUS UPDATE REGARDING\nPREVIOUS OPIOID DISTRIBUTOR AND JANSEN SETTLEMENT\nAGREEMENTS\nThe City has previously approved Resolution No. 21-60 which authorized staff\nto participate in an Opioid Distributor Settlement Agreement. There have been\nrecent updates concerning the payment amounts the City will receive and new\nSettlement Agreements with Opioid Distributors that the City may consider\nentering into. This is an update regarding recent discussions with the\nsettlement administrators concerning payment amounts and the City’s option\nto enter into the new national opioid distributor settlements before the\ndeadline of April 18, 2023.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Attorney to execute\nthe necessary settlement and participation agreements for the new national\nopioid settlements that have been reached with Teva, Allergen, CVS, Walgreens,\nand Walmart.
