(29) 20-0882-S2 CD 14 CONSIDERATION OF MOTION (DE LEÓN - RODRIGUEZ) relative to the amendments to the City's existing concession agreements at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument with merchant-tenants to structure plans for the graduated payment of the full amount of past due rent, and related matters. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: AUTHORIZE the General Manager, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument Authority Department, to: Negotiate and execute amendments to the City's existing concession agreements with merchant-tenants to structure plans for the graduated payment of the full amount of past due rent, so long as all such rent is paid within 36 months or by the end of the expiration of the concession agreement, whichever is sooner. Rent that qualifies for such payment plans includes rent that became due between the Mayor's declaration of a local emergency, on March 4, 2020, and the date on which the City Council approves this Motion. Waive interest and late charges on back rent owed for the aforementioned timeframe as well as charges that would be issued due to the establishment of a graduated payment plan approved by the department.
