(7) 20-1537 PERSONNEL, AUDITS, AND HIRING COMMITTEE REPORT and ORDINANCE FIRST CONSIDERATION relative to amending the Los Angeles Administrative Code (LAAC) to establish disability retirement benefits for the public safety officers who are members of the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System Tiers 1 and 3. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: PRESENT and ADOPT the accompanying ORDINANCE, dated May 1, 2023, amending Chapter 10 of Division 4 of the LAAC to enhance the disability retirement, death, and survivorship benefits for sworn peace officers who are Public Safety Officer Members of the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System.
