(1) 23-0703 PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to preparing an ordinance to amend Section 91.105 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) to add an exemption for shade structures installed at Department of Recreation and Parks facilities with an area up to 1,300 square feet provided that a structural engineer has determined that the structure meets all applicable safety standards. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (de León – Blumenfield - Lee): REQUEST the City Attorney, with the assistance of the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, to draft an ordinance amending Section 91.105 of the LAMC to add an exemption for shade structures installed at Department of Recreation and Parks facilities with an area up to 1,300 square feet provided that a structural engineer has determined that the structure meets all applicable safety standards. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis on this report.
