(9) 23-0918 PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEES’ REPORT relative to streamlining and implementing better coordination between the departments and bureaus who build and maintain public infrastructure in the public right-of-way, sidewalks, and parkway. Recommendation for Council action, as initiated by Motion (Hutt – Lee – McOsker): INSTRUCT the Department of Public Works and Los Angeles Department of Transportation, with the assistance of the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA), to report to the Council in 60 days on recommendations and best practices that will streamline and implement better coordination between the departments and bureaus who build and maintain public infrastructure in the public right-of-way, sidewalks, and parkway by evaluating reducing the number of steps involved in the approval process, providing clear guidance to the public, and appropriate timelines for implementation. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the CLA has completed a financial analysis of this report.
