(3) 23-1251 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the in-kind donation of 15,000 Fire Safety Activity Books worth $20,000 from the Hero In You Foundation. Recommendation for Council action: APPROVE the in-kind donation by the Hero In You Foundation of 15,000 Fire Safety Activity Books worth $20,000, as detailed in the October 3, 2023 Board of Fire Commissioners (Board) report, attached to the Council File, to the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD); and, THANK the Foundation for its generous donation. Fiscal Impact Statement: The Board reports that there is no fiscal impact on the LAFD's budget from the acceptance of this donation. Donations provide the necessary items to meet the needs of the respective fire stations or administration sections. Replacement or repair of items meeting City specifications and LAFD business needs may be bore by General Fund, subject to budgetary constraints.
