(8) 21-0476 COMMUNICATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CANNABIS REGULATION (DCR) relative to front-funding and authorization to accept and deposit reimbursements for Proposition 64 (Prop 64) Public Health and Safety Grant projects. Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: APPROPRIATE and TRANSFER $845,500 from Fund No. 60E/13, Reserve for Future Costs account (13Y999) to Fund No. 100/13, Contractual Services account (003040) to provide front-funding for contracts related to the DCR’s Prop 64 Grant agreement, to be repaid when reimbursed by grant funds. REQUEST the Controller to accept and deposit Prop 64 Grant funds in the DCR Cannabis Regulation Special Revenue Trust Fund No. 60E/13. AUTHORIZE the Executive Director, DCR, or designee, to expend said funds from the account listed above for the purposes set forth in the DCR report dated January 4, 2024, attached to the Council file, and consistent with the grant requirements. AUTHORIZE the DCR to prepare Controller instructions and/or make any technical adjustments that may be required, subject to the approval of the City Administrative Officer (CAO); and, request the Controller to implement these instructions. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the DCR. Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analyst of this report.
