(16) 24-0185 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT relative to women employed in the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) in sworn and civilian positions. Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Rodriguez – McOsker): INSTRUCT the LAFD to report on: The number of women currently serving in the LAFD, by classification with said report to include sworn and civilian positions. Recruitment efforts that are aimed to increase the number of women in sworn and civilian positions throughout the entire LAFD. INSTRUCT the LAFD to report, in collaboration with the Personnel Department, on: The retention rate of women throughout the LAFD with said report to include recommendations for how the LAFD will improve retention rates going forward. Promotional opportunities within the LAFD and the number of women being promoted throughout the LAFD. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
