(54) 23-1237 The Council may recess to Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1), to confer with its legal counsel relative to the case entitled Bridgeland Resources, LLC v. City of Los Angeles, et al., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 23STCP01217. (This lawsuit seeks a writ of mandate, damages, and injunctive and declaratory relief, related to challenges of the City’s adoption of Ordinance No. 187,709 amending Los Angeles Municipal Code Sections 12.03, 12.20, 12.23, 12.24, and 13.01 to prohibit new oil and gas extraction and make existing oil extraction activities a nonconforming use in all zones.) (Energy and Environment Committee considered this matter on January 26, 2024.  Planning and Land Use Management Committee waived consideration of the above matter)
