(57) 24­0455 CD 1 MOTION (HERNANDEZ ­ RAMAN) relative to funding to assist tenants who accrued rent debt while facing rental increases related to the expiration of affordability covenants in Council District 1. Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: 1. INSTRUCT the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) to establish and administer a rent relief program to assist such eligible renters in Council District 1. 2. TRANSFER and APPROPRIATE $250,000 in the General City Purposes Fund No 100/56, Account No. 000701 (Community Services District 1) to HCID General Fund Program Fund No. 10A/42, new account "Rent Assistance," to assist eligible renters in Council District 1. 3. AUTHORIZE the LAHD to disburse up to $250,000 to eligible Friday landlords-and Aprilrenters 26, 2024 - in Council District 1. PAGE 57 renters in Council District 1. 2. TRANSFER and APPROPRIATE $250,000 in the General City Purposes Fund No 100/56, Account No. 000701 (Community Services District 1) to HCID General Fund Program Fund No. 10A/42, new account "Rent Assistance," to assist eligible renters in Council District 1. 3. AUTHORIZE the LAHD to disburse up to $250,000 to eligible landlords and renters in Council District 1. 4. AUTHORIZE the LAHD to make any corrections, clarifications, or revisions, including any corrections and changes to fund or account numbers to effectuate the intent of this Motion; said corrections/clarifications may be made orally, electronically, or by any other means.
