(58) 24­0459 COMMMUNICATION FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY relative to the retention of and request for appropriations for as­needed outside bankruptcy counsel services. Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: 1. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney to enter into new contracts, not to exceed three years in length, with Hogan Lovells US LLP; KTBS Law, LLP; Nossaman, LLP; and Rimon, PC, each in the initial amount of $100,000, for as­needed assistance with bankruptcy practice. 2. INSTRUCT the City Administrative Officer (CAO) to identify funding in the amount of $100,000 for these contracts and include it in the year­end Financial Status Report and to identify funding in the amount of $300,000 for these contracts at the start of Fiscal Year 2024­25. 3. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney, or designee, to prepare Controller instructions for any necessary technical adjustments, subject to the approval of the CAO, and authorize the Controller to implement the instructions. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the City Attorney. Neither the Chief Legislative Analyst nor the CAO has completed a financial analysis of this report.
