(7) 240210 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to accepting funds from the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery for grants to perform enforcement, compliance and surveillance activities at waste tire facilities. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: AUTHORIZE the Bureau of Street Services, Investigation and Enforcement Division to accept funds allocated for Fiscal Years 202324 through 202728 from the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery for grants to Local Enforcement Agencies, cities and countries with regulatory authority within city and county governments to perform enforcement, compliance and surveillance activities at waste tire facilities. Fiscal Impact Statement: The Board of Public Works reports that the receipt of grant funds will allow the City to improve its existing illegal dumping and waste tire enforcement program. Acceptance of these funds Friday will lessen the burden on 2024 - April 26, the General - Fund which provides PAGE 12 for the funding current Street Services Investigator illegal dumping and waste tire and Recovery for grants to Local Enforcement Agencies, cities and countries with regulatory authority within city and county governments to perform enforcement, compliance and surveillance activities at waste tire facilities. Fiscal Impact Statement: The Board of Public Works reports that the receipt of grant funds will allow the City to improve its existing illegal dumping and waste tire enforcement program. Acceptance of these funds will lessen the burden on the General Fund which provides funding for the current Street Services Investigator illegal dumping and waste tire enforcement efforts to address serious quality of life issues in the communities where illegal dumping is an ongoing battle.
