(31) 24­0607 CD 11 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to a Personal Services Contract with Waste Management of California, Inc. (WM) to provide landfill disposal of grit and screenings services for the Bureau of Sanitation (BOS). Recommendation for Council action: AUTHORIZE the President, Board of Public Works (BPW), or two members, on behalf of the BOS, to execute the proposed Personal Services Contract with WM, as approved by the BPW on January 24, 2024, to provide landfill disposal services of grit and screenings collected at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant for a term of five years, with two five­year renewal options, for a total term of 15 years and a cost not to exceed $18,283,407, subject to City Attorney approval as to form and compliance with the City’s contracting requirements. Fiscal Impact Statement: The City Administrative Officer (CAO) reports that there is no impact to the General Fund as funding is not required in 2023­24. Funding is provided by the Sewer Construction and Maintenance Fund for the current contract. Funding for subsequent years will be provided through the City’s annual budget development process. The contract includes a Financial Liability Clause which limits the City’s financial obligation to the amount appropriated in the City budget for such expenditures.
