(8) 240804 NEIGHBORHOODS AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the feasibility of requiring all dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses to be microchipped, the steps necessary over the next couple of years to implement such requirement, and related matters. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Rodriguez – Blumenfield): INSTRUCT the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services to report to Council on the following: REPORT relative to the feasibility of requiring all dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses to be microchipped, the steps necessary over the next couple of years to implement such requirement, and related matters. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Rodriguez – Blumenfield): INSTRUCT the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services to report to Council on the following: a. Feasibility of requiring all dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses to be microchipped, including the steps necessary over the next couple of years to implement such a requirement. b. Resources currently available to assist people with getting their pets microchipped. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
