(15) 25-0183 RULES, ELECTIONS AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the feasibility of allowing candidates for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board of Education to participate in the Public Matching Funds Program, and related matters. Recommendations for Council action, as initiated by Motion (Padilla, Price, Nazarian – Hernandez): 1. REQUEST the City Ethics Commission, with the assistance of the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) and the City Attorney, to report to Council on the feasibility of allowing candidates for the LAUSD Board of Education to participate in the Public Matching Funds Program, including an analysis on the impacts to the Public Matching Campaign Funds Trust Fund and the steps necessary to place a ballot measure that would expand the eligibility of the Public Matching Funds Program to LAUSD Board of Education candidates for the ballot in 2026. 2. COLLABORATE with LAUSD on a source of funds. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the CLA has completed a financial analysis of this report.
