(25)\n20-0263-S4\nCONTINUED CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATION FROM THE\nCITY ATTORNEY relative to the approval to retain the services of Ron\nGalperin and team, along with data analyst Daniel Garrie and team to\nserve as the Monitor pursuant to the City's settlement agreement with\nthe Plaintiffs in LA Alliance for Human Rights et al. v. City of Los\nAngeles et al., USDC Central District Case No. 2:20-cv-02291-DOCKES.\nRecommendations for Council action:\n1. APPROVE the retention of Ron Galperin and Daniel Garrie and\nthe teams collectively to serve as the Monitor pursuant to the\nCity’s settlement agreement with Plaintiffs in the LA Alliance\ncase and a subsequent Court Order dated June 24, 2025.\n2. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney’s Office to negotiate and enter\ninto contracts with Messrs. Galperin and Garrie for their and\ntheir teams’ services as Monitor in the LA Alliance case.\nThe City Council may recess to Closed Session, pursuant\nto Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1), (d)(2), (e)(1),\nand (e)(2), to discuss and put forth the below\nrecommendations for the City Council’s consideration and\n[significant exposure to litigation] to confer with its legal\ncounsel relative to the case entitled LA Alliance for Human\nRights, et al. v. City of Los Angeles, et al., United States\nCentral District Court Case No. 2:20-cv-02291, Ninth Circuit\nCourt of Appeals Case No. 22-55687 (one potential\nplaintiff).
