7.c.\nCONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION No. 25-086,\nAWARDING AN AGREEMENT TO EMERGENCY PLANNING\nCONSULTING (EPC) TO PROVIDE CONSULTING SERVICES TO\nUPDATE THE CITY'S LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN (LHMP) IN\nAN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $140,000\nThe Federal Disaster Management Act of 2000 (DMA) requires every local,\ncounty, and state government to have an approved Local Hazard Mitigation\nPlan (LHMP), also known as the Plan. In addition to minimizing the impact\nof major hazard events on the community, completion of the Plan also\nmaintains eligibility for future hazard mitigation funding following any\nsignificant disaster. The City of South El Monte is updating the LHMP,\nwhich will expire in December of 2026.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council adopt\nResolution No. 25-086, awarding an agreement with EPC to provide\nconsulting services to update the City's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan\n(LHMP) for an amount not to exceed one hundred forty thousand dollars\n($140,000).\nConsent Calendar Items 7.d. and 7.e. next page.\nCONSENT CALENDAR (CONTINUED)
