(5)\n25-0927\nCIVIL RIGHTS, EQUITY, IMMIGRATION, AGING AND DISABILITY\nCOMMITTEE REPORT relative to promoting the “Know Your Rights”\npublic awareness campaign using Bureau of Sanitation’s (BOS) trash\ntruck fleet.\nRecommendations for\n(Rodriguez - Nazarian):\nCouncil\naction,\npursuant\nto\nMotion\n1. INSTRUCT the BOS, with the assistance from the Community\nInvestment for Families Department, and in partnership with\nlocal nonprofit organizations such as the Salvadoran American\nLeadership and Educational Fund, the Coalition for Humane\nImmigrant Rights, the Central American Resource Center, and\nothers, to promote the “Know Your Rights” public awareness\ncampaign using BOS’ trash truck fleet. The campaign should\ninclude:\na. Posters affixed to the sides of trash trucks with “Know\nYour Rights” messaging.\nb. Informational stickers placed in visible areas on trucks.\nc. Design and messaging developed in collaboration with\ncommunity-based nonprofit partners to ensure cultural\nrelevance and legal accuracy.\n2. INSTRUCT the BOS, with the assistance of the City\nAdministrative Officer (CAO), to report to Council on a threemonth implementation program and associated cost.\nFiscal Impact Statement: Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative\nAnalyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
