34.\nAutomobile, Disability and Healthcare, and Workers' Compensation\nInsurance Fraud Programs Grant Award Agreements\nRecommendation: Authorize the District Attorney to accept grant funds and\nenter into an agreement with the State Department of Insurance (CDI) for the\nAutomobile Insurance Fraud (AIF), Disability and Healthcare Insurance Fraud\n(DHIF), and Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fraud (WCIF) Programs up to\nthe total amount of $17,524,000, for the period of July 1, 2025 through June 30,\n2026. There is no required County match for these grants. Instruct the Chair to\nsign the resolutions required to enter into Grant Award Agreements (GAA) with\nCDI for AIF, DHIF, and WCIF Programs. Execute the GAA and serve as\nProject Director for the programs. This also includes authorization to sign and\napprove any revisions, subsequent amendments, modifications, and/or\nextensions to CDI grant agreements that have no Net County Cost impact to the\nCounty; and to apply, submit, and execute all required grant application\ndocuments, including assurances and certifications, when and if such future\nand similar funding becomes available. Upon approval and allocation of grant\nfunds for expert and/or legal consultant services per programmatic\nrequirements to enter into and execute service agreements for consultant and\nexpert services, on an as-needed basis, in an amount not to exceed $200,000\nper agreement. The delegated authority also includes the execution of any\nsubsequent amendments, extensions, modifications, and/or revisions to the\nservice agreements, as necessary, to support the pre-filing and/or trial\nperiod(s) of the contracted fraud case(s), in alignment with the approved grant\nfunds and any subsequent allocations authorized by the grantor.
